Product guide

A conversation with your NetSuite data.

Carmen is an AI assistant for NetSuite. It gives your team a conversational way to explore business information while keeping access tied to the NetSuite role used for the request.

Start with a business question

Ask about the information you need in everyday language. For example, an accounts payable team might want to understand which open vendor bills need attention. Be specific about the date range, subsidiary and currency when those details matter.

A good starting question describes a task rather than asking the assistant to make a financial decision for you. Review the result before using it in your work.

Use the access your administrator enables

Carmen access is enabled for participating NetSuite accounts by an administrator. Business queries are checked under the current NetSuite role. A conversational interface does not give a user permission to view records that their role cannot access.

Availability depends on the account configuration, license and enabled features. Ask the team to confirm your intended workflow and setup requirements before joining a pilot.

Review the answer and ask a follow up

Check what the result includes: record status, period, currency and any limits. Compare important totals against the relevant NetSuite records or reports. Follow-up questions help narrow the conversation, but an AI-generated response still needs appropriate human review.

Our guide to validating NetSuite AI answers explains a repeatable approach.

Carmen Chats and Pocket Detective

Carmen Chats and Pocket Detective are ways to work with Carmen. Pocket Detective is the browser companion that opens a compact conversation alongside your NetSuite work. It is available to invited pilot users with an active Carmen license and an administrator-enabled account.

Read the Pocket Detective privacy notice for details about browser permissions, page context and account connections.

Understand where processing happens

Relevant questions, context and permitted results may be sent to the AI provider configured for the account. Hosted processing and operational records are also part of the service. Provider settings and retention terms apply; Carmen does not promise zero provider retention.

The security and data overview and privacy notice explain the distinction between NetSuite records, hosted service records and provider processing.

Bring a real workflow to the beta

Tell us what your team does today, which question takes too long to answer and who needs the result. We will discuss whether that task fits the current beta. Do not send credentials, API keys or customer records with an initial request.
