Pick one recurring close question
Choose an investigation with a clear owner and an existing comparison method: an unexplained balance movement, open vendor bills that need review or a discrepancy between two views. Define what an acceptable explanation would include before the pilot starts.
Example pilot question
“Which open bill questions should we investigate before this period’s review, and what scope do we need to agree first?”
The team will confirm the records, filters and current capabilities relevant to your account.
Keep the evidence with the question
For each investigation, record the account or record group, period, subsidiary, currency and reference report. Separate a known timing item from an unexplained difference. Note what was checked and who needs to review the next step.
Follow-ups can narrow an exploration, but important figures should still be checked against the relevant NetSuite records. A helpful close explanation includes its assumptions and the remaining open questions.
Agree the handoff and approval boundary
Decide who investigates, who reviews and who can make changes. Producing an explanation is different from approving journals, changing transactions or closing a period. Confirm any supported actions and controls directly with the Carmen team.
Where a customization is involved, Carmen Documentation can give your team a place to review the script explanation, versions and human notes.
Run a pilot your reviewer can assess
Select a small set of past or representative cases, including an exception. Measure time to a verified explanation, correction effort and completeness of the handoff. Use those findings to decide whether to expand the scope.
Carmen is in limited beta. Bring your exact workflow to a pilot conversation so we can confirm supported records, configuration and scope for your account.
